Nollywood actor Jide Awobona took to his social media page to celebrate after receiving an award at the recent Rocklaf Studio event.
He expressed his surprise at gaining such recognition, especially since he had left early to avoid staying out late.
He thanked the award organizer, Yomi Fabiyi, and everyone present at the event.
He wrote: I THOUGHT I HAD ADJUSTED TO STAYING LONGER AT EVENTS , BUT OBVIOUSLY NOT THERE YET, MY EXCUSE THIS TIME FOR NOT STAYING LONGER WAS BECAUSE I HAD TO BE BACK IN LAGOS ON TIME , I LEFT A COUSINS WEDDING TO HONOUR THIS INVITATION, I HAD EVEN FORGOTTEN I WAS NOMINATED 🫣 @realyomifabiyi I CAME NOT BECAUSE OF THIS AWARD , BUT TO HONOUR YOU AND APPRECIATE YOU FOR THIS GREAT FEAT, I WAS SO MOVED WHEN THE LIKES OF UNCLE YINKA, UNCLE OGOGO , UNCLE DELE AND CO WERE ON THE STAGE TO RECEIVE THEIR AWARDS, IT HAS NEVER BEEN DONE THAT WAY, GOD BLESS YOU , AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS AWARD.
