Nollywood actress Tokunbo Latona has revealed one of the reasons she has stepped back from making movie appearances lately. In addition, she spoke about how her marriage to her husband in the UK has influenced her career in filmmaking.
In an interview posted on Kunleafod TV’s official YouTube channel, she shared that she decided to stop acting because her husband asked her to move to the United Kingdom with him.
In her statement, she said, “I left Nigeria in the year 2014, and the last movie I did was in 2015. I stopped acting movies when my husband insisted that I must move to the UK with him.
I got married in the year 2014, and my husband stays in the UK, so I did my last movie in the UK in 2015, but since then I have not produced any movies.”
Latona and her husband faced numerous emotional and physical challenges in their pursuit of parenthood. “It was a long journey,” she expressed with deep feeling. “We tried for 10 years, and it wasn’t easy. We underwent IVF, and I had to go through 250 injections, but I consider myself incredibly lucky that the first attempt was successful.”
Her story showcases her resilience and determination throughout this process. The intensive treatments and the uncertainty of the results made it an overwhelming experience. Nevertheless, her steadfast hope and determination ultimately led to the joy of bringing a child into her life.
Latona shared that she and her husband are expecting another child. “We are expecting another child,” she said, her face glowing with happiness. This news marks an exciting new phase for the couple, filled with hope and gratitude after their previous struggles.
Latona’s candidness about her experiences serves as an inspiration to others facing similar challenges. Her story highlights the harsh realities of infertility and the strength needed to navigate such a tough journey, demonstrating that perseverance and faith can result in a joyful outcome.
