“Anywhere My Ex-Husband Saw Me, He Would Beaat Me”- Actress Ayo Adesanya Opens Up About Her Marriage To Her Ex Husband Goriola Hassan

Renowned Nollywood actress Ayo Adesanya has spoken candidly about her troubled marriage and personal life.

In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Ayo revealed that she turned to alcohol to cope with the trauma of spending ten years in an abusive marriage. She recounted how her ex-husband would physically assault her whenever he saw her.

Despite the abuse, she remained in the marriage due to societal pressure and the fear of being judged for not being able to “keep a man.” She shared that her colleagues, including Bimbo Akintola, were frustrated with her for not walking away sooner.

Ayo also recalled a terrifying incident where her ex threatened to gouge out her eyes with a knife and, out of jealousy, sent their son to Ibadan at just one year old because he felt she was giving the child too much attention.

Additionally, she opened up about why her next relationship didn’t work out and discussed her journey back to Nollywood.

“Anywhere my ex-husband saw me, he would beat me.

He beat me so much, I became an alcoholīc. But I couldn’t leave because of the shame that people would say I couldn’t keep a man”.

Ayo Adesanya was formerly married to one Goriola Hassan, but they are now divorced. She also has a son.
