Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba’s alleged lover, Honorable Natasha Osawaru, has reportedly been removed as the Minority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly.
On April 7, 2025, reports emerged that Osawaru, a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), was ousted along with the Majority Leader, Hon. Charity Aiguobarueghian, and the Chief Whip, Hon. Yekini Idaiye.
Despite the shake-up, Hon. Blessing Agbebaku and Hon. Maria Edeko, both of the PDP, retained their positions as Speaker and Deputy Speaker, respectively.
The shake-up in the Edo State House of Assembly was reportedly prompted by a letter from the state’s acting APC chairman, Jarret Tenebe, after the PDP lost its majority status due to the defection of four lawmakers to the APC.
Honorable Natasha Osawaru’s removal quickly sparked widespread reactions across Nigeria, particularly because of her widely publicized relationship with music icon 2Baba.
