“Tinubu is the best father to Seyi, but worst President to Nigerians” – Eedris Abdulkareem tell Seyi

Veteran Nigerian rapper Eedris Abdulkareem has labeled President Bola Tinubu as a good father to his son, Seyi Tinubu, but a terrible leader to the Nigerian people.

This comes just days after the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) officially banned Nigerian radio and television stations from playing Abdulkareem’s trending song, “Tell Your Papa,” citing violations of broadcast decency regulations.

In a memo dated April 9, 2025, and signed by the Coordinating Director of Broadcast Monitoring, Susan Obi, the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) categorized Eedris Abdulkareem’s song as “Not To Be Broadcast” (NTBB) under Section 3.1.8 of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code. This section prohibits the airing of content deemed “inappropriate, offensive, or in breach of public decency” on public platforms.

Just days after the ban, Eedris Abdulkareem revealed during a personality interview on Channels TV that he was inspired to create the song after watching a video of Seyi Tinubu campaigning for his father. In the video, Seyi repeatedly hailed his father as the best president.

“Seyi repeatedly it more than 6 times. And he looks perfect when he is silence than when you speak. I will advise Seyi to hand the mic to the MC next time. He lacks the charisma of telling the exact economic situation in Nigeria under his father’s government.”

“Tinubu is the best father to Seyi Tinubu, but he is the worst President to Nigerians. Eedris Abdulkareem added that President Tinubu has empowered his son, Seyi but has failed to empower Nigerians by providing jobs and food to eat .
