Nollywood actor Saidi Balogun has voiced his concerns about the economic hardship and current state of affairs in the country.
Taking to his Instagram page, the Yoruba actor questioned the existence and effectiveness of price control or regulatory agencies in Nigeria.
He also asked how the impact of inflation can be mitigated. The actor highlighted that the situation is becoming increasingly dire.
“Do we have a functional price control or piece regulatory agency in Nigeria?
How do we cushion the effects of inflation?
Because things are getting out of hand”.
Recall that actor Saidi Balogun has publicly supported Toyin Abraham Ajewole amidst her struggles with online trolls, despite the silence of other colleagues.
Toyin Abraham has been facing significant online trolling and bullying for having one of her trolls arrested and held in police custody for a period.
One troll accused the actress of detaining his mother, a claim Toyin denied, explaining that the mother chose to remain at the police station because of her son’s arrest.
Reacting to the news, Saidi Balogun slammed those trolling Toyin Abraham even when they committed the same errors.
The actor turned politician claimed everyone used the police to arrest their neighbours for the smallest offence but made it a bullying case when it involved a celebrity.
Balogun spoke on behalf of his colleagues who are being emotionally blackmailed because they are celebrities, saying they should be free to take actions without judgment since netizens are free to speak.
“You use police to arrest your neighbours for the most minor reasons, e reach celebrity turn, you say it’s bully.
Stop the emotional blackmail. Celebrities are human, just like you. You are free to say what you like, right? Let celebrities be free to take whatever actions to protect their mental space. Freedom should not be selective. God bless”
