Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji took to his social media page to talk about his new cinema movie, “Lisabi.”
In the video he shared, Lateef is seen wearing a customized native attire with “Lisabi” written on it, smiling warmly.
In the caption, he reflected on his childhood, mentioning that while growing up, he never realized that Lisabi was a real person; he only knew the name from hearing his eulogy.
He further stated that he did research for so many years and was interested in the story about the hero.
He wrote: While growing up, I never knew Lisabi was human, when I hear the eulogy of “Egba Omo Lisabi”, I always thought it was a myth, it took me years to realize he was actually a man like me.
I researched for years, I became interested in the story of the heroes of my race, I found out that some of them truly fought for the freedom I have today, together with my team, we have brought you a vivid creation of their heroics, I’m calling on you to embrace it when it hits Netflix.
This is not only for the people of Egba land, it’s for the entire Yoruba race, for all Africans and for every human who values freedom, who understands liberty and the grace of free will, Lisabi de, Ominira de!
Lisabi – The Uprising hits Netflix on the 27th of September, be the first to see it, you will not be disappointed.
