Nollywood actress Bukunmi Oluwasina has experienced an emotional reunion with her best friend from secondary school after being apart for 20 years.
In a heartfelt post on her Instagram page, she shared her joy at finally reconnecting with her friend, Gift, after two decades. Bukunmi revealed that she had promised to stay in touch with Gift when they parted ways due to changing schools.
Gift faithfully upheld her end of the promise by sending Bukunmi letters and sweets every week for months. However, when Bukunmi changed schools, she was unable to maintain their correspondence, leading to a loss of contact between them.
However, after 20 years, they reunited, leaving Bukunmi Oluwasina emotional. She stated that the reunion feels like another birthday gift.
She wrote: 20 years ago, I made a promise, when my friend was going to change schools, she tearfully promised to write me letters every week. And I promised to forever keep in touch.
Well, she kept her side of the promise for months, and would even add some sweets 🍭 to her letters, telling me what her news school is like and all… until I changed school too, leaving the school she sends letters to and we both lost contacts.
Who was collecting those letters on my behalf and licking those sweets eventually though? 😭
