Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has set a new record with her latest movie, Everybody Loves Jenifa.
The film raked in an impressive 206 million Naira at the Nigerian box office within just two days, becoming the fastest Nollywood movie to achieve this milestone.
Additionally, it has claimed the title of the highest-grossing Nollywood movie of all time, with earnings still climbing. This remarkable achievement has also solidified Funke Akindele’s position as the highest-grossing Nollywood director in history.
Despite the increase in movie ticket prices, with an average cost of N6,000, Nigerians turned out in large numbers to watch Funke Akindele’s latest film, Everybody Loves Jenifa, setting a remarkable new record.
Often hailed as the Queen of the Nigerian box office, Funke Akindele surpassed her previous achievements once again on Saturday, breaking yet another record.
This milestone was confirmed in a report by Box Office Nigeria and Filmhouse Cinema Distribution.
