Nollywood actor Jide Awobona spoke about being sidelined from major Nollywood projects by his colleagues.
When asked why he isn’t called for many big cinema projects, both English and Yoruba, despite his abundant talent, Awobona expressed his disappointment. He mentioned that he had even asked a host why he wasn’t included in his cinema movie, as he couldn’t understand the reason. Awobona revealed that he was supposed to be part of a significant project, but his name was initially listed and later replaced with someone else’s.
He further stated that the movie industry is so funny that if you lullaby too much at the end of the day you might get nothing for recommending and it will be like he begged me to be on his movie.
At this stage, I shouldn’t be begging for roles, I should get them on merit he said.
