The mother of a Nigerian boxer who tragically passed away during a fight in Ghana has made a heartfelt plea for help, revealing a message her son sent before the match.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), she called on Nigerian President Bola Tinubu for assistance and justice. She also disclosed that her son had received a threatening message before the fight, urging him to forfeit to his opponent. However, he refused to back down.
Although the boxer dominated the first two rounds, he struggled to lift his arm in the third round, which ultimately led to his tragic passing.
In her heartfelt plea, his mother called on President Bola Tinubu to ensure a thorough investigation, alleging foul play and insisting that her son was deliberately harmed. She desperately begged for justice, fearing that the truth might be concealed.
Her statement read: “Our daddy Tinubu, help me. I have one son, and I don’t have anyone else. His father passed away on June 12, 1993, and I’ve been raising him alone ever since.”
“He received a message, threatening him to step down for his opponent, but he refused. We read the message during the day, but the match had already taken place overnight. He won the first two rounds, but couldn’t lift his arm in the third. Please don’t let them cover this up, help me.”
