Cute Abiola give a Savage respond to Nigerian police as they threaten to arrest and prosecute him over his skits

Abdulgafar Abiola, a renowned Nigerian skit maker and actor widely known as Cute Abiola, has addressed the recent threat from the Nigerian police regarding potential legal consequences for his skits.

He posted a video on his social media, playfully imitating a police officer and poking fun at the Nigerian police’s association with bribery.

In reaction to the video, the Nigerian Police Force stated their intention to investigate and evaluate the option of prosecuting him for allegedly disrespecting the police force’s uniform.

The Police through its Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejoba, in a statement, accused Cute Abiola of violating Section 251 of the Criminal Code and Section 133 of the Penal Code Law.

Section 251 states: “Any person who, not being a person serving in any of the armed or police forces of Nigeria, wears the uniform of any of these forces, or any dress having the appearance or bearing any of the regimental or other distinctive marks of any such uniform, in such manner or in such circumstances as to be likely to bring contempt on that uniform, or employs any other person so to wear such uniform or dress, is guilty of a simple offense, and is liable to imprisonment for three months or to a fine of forty nairas”.

He stated that Cute Abiola’s actions are not only deemed offensive but undermine the integrity and dignity of the mën and women who wear the uniform in service to the nation.

As such, the skit maker would be investigated and possibly prosecuted.

Taking to a blog’s comment section, Cute Abiola shared a meme of him being unbothered by the threat.
