Famous Nigerian singer Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has opened up about his journey with Nollywood box office star Funke Akindele.
Falz and Funke Akindele have shared a close bond, from their on-screen chemistry in the hit sitcom Jenifa’s Diary to their upcoming project, Everybody Loves Jenifa.
In a conversation with Chude Jideonwo, Falz praised Funke as one of the most hardworking entertainers he’s ever met.
He recounted how the actress approached him to feature in Jenifa’s Diary, sharing that the experience was enjoyable throughout the process. Falz reiterated that Funke’s work ethic is truly exceptional.
He said “I remember Funke Akindele, a big shout out to her, by the way; She had reached out to me maybe by Instagram or something.
Anyway saying, she had seen some of those videos. Yeah, and she had something she was working on. Yeah, she’d like me to be a part of it.
There was no Jennifer’s Diary; the diary didn’t exist.
I don’t think I’ve ever crossed paths with any other entertainer in this country. Yes, that is more hard-working than she is.”
A few days ago, Funke Akindele opened up about the difficult times she faced before rising to stardom.
The actress shared a video on Instagram of herself actively working on the set of her highest-grossing film, A Tribe Called Judah. She discussed how the movie highlights the struggles single mothers face while raising children.
Funke described herself as a testament to the power of self-belief, sharing that despite numerous challenges, she learned to stand tall and use her experiences to inspire others. The box office queen encouraged her followers to continue motivating and uplifting the next generation of women.
