While some artists may never achieve recognition on the New York Times Square billboard during their lifetimes or even after their passing, a recent video related to Mohbad’s demise cannot be overlooked.
After his untimely passing, Mohbad, renowned for his hit track “Peace,” made it onto the Times Square billboard, leaving many in a state of admiration and emotion.
In a new video circulating online today, September 21, 2023, people in New York City, United States of America (USA), gather to mourn alongside Nigerians in the wake of Mohbad’s passing.
Mohbad, aged 27, passed away on September 12, 2023, under controversial circumstances and was laid to rest on September 13th, 2023. Nigerians are calling for justice, demanding an autopsy due to disturbing revelations of harassment and assault prior to his demise.
In line with the diligent investigation promised to Nigerians by the police regarding Mohbad’s demise, the late Mohbad’s body has been exhumed today by the Lagos State Police for the autopsy.
Currently, a candlelight procession is underway in Lekki, Lagos State, as a part of mourning Mohbad’s loss. Notable figures like Davido, Falz, Do2dtun, and other Nigerians are in attendance.
