Fans recently got a glimpse into the married life of Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Sola Kosoko.

During an interview with colleague Biola Bayo, Sola revealed that she met her spouse when she was twenty years old. At that time, he had already completed his postsecondary education.

Despite the differences in their religious backgrounds—her spouse being Muslim and herself Christian—Sola initially hadn’t planned to marry him. However, over time, her spouse’s unwavering persistence won her over.

“I actually met my husband when I was very young, I was 20 when I met him. He was already a graduate, I think he was writing his final exams in Higher Institution and he spoke to me.

My husband was able to stand the test of time. I didn’t have the mind to marry him because he is a Muslim and I am a Christian. We courted for a long time before we got married”.

Elsewhere in the interview, Shola Kosoko shared her two cents on her stance about divorces, taking a stance on it, especially when it affects one’s life. She noted how when a woman is in a critical situation, she gets advice from different angles, but it is left for her to pick one.

Using a popular Yoruba adage, she stated that women should be able to decide on their own while adding that no marriage is worth one’s life.

Shola Kosoko, the daughter of Jide Kosoko, has been married for over 10 years to Abiodun Abinna and has three children – two girls and a boy.
