The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, has issued a public apology in a new video circulating online, following his previous statement about paying tithes.
In July 2024, Pastor Adeboye became a topic of widespread discussion after he declared that anyone who does not pay tithe would not enter heaven. His statement sparked considerable debate, leading to his recent apology to all those affected by his remarks.
In his words; “Anyone who is not paying his tithe is not going to heaven, full stop. I’m going to give every one of you pastors, an opportunity to repent tonight. “
However, in a new clip trending online, pastor Adeboye while preaching in front of his congregations said he apologized for saying that if you don’t pay tithe, you won’t make it to heaven.
He said that he was sorry as what he said was wrong and not in the bible. In his words; “I apologize for saying ‘If you don’t pay tithe, you won’t make it to heaven.’ I’m sorry, that’s wrong, and it’s not in the Bible. What the Bible says is ‘Follow peace with all men, and holiness,without which no man shall see God.”
