TeeFamous, the popular Yoruba singer and actor, has opened up about one of the most heartbreaking moments of his career—an experience that left him in tears for days.
Speaking during an interview on Kunleafod TV’s official YouTube channel, TeeFamous recounted how, after spending six days on a movie set, he discovered the amount he was originally supposed to be paid for the project. Unfortunately, the payment he eventually received was far less than expected, leaving him deeply hurt and disappointed.
Speaking on the incident, he shared, “I worked on a movie set for six days. Luckily, I got the chance to see the payment list, and when I saw the amount assigned to me, I felt really happy. I didn’t ask the actor in charge about the payment because I trusted that he would give me what was due. After filming, he offered me a ride, and just as I was about to get out of his car, I asked about my money. He acted like he had forgotten, then reached into his pocket and handed me just 500 Naira. I was in shock.”
The experience hit him so hard that he locked himself in his room and cried for three consecutive days. He admitted that in his pain, he prayed, asking God to take him away from the film industry if it wasn’t meant to be his path in life.
His emotional revelation has sparked conversations about the struggles many upcoming actors face in the industry, highlighting issues of unfair compensation and exploitation.
