Nigerian actress and filmmaker Biodun Okeowo, popularly known as Omoborty, has opened up about her journey as a single mother in search of true love.
Reflecting on her marriage, which took place late last year, Biodun shared her initial doubts about its success and expressed some regrets about things she wishes she had done differently on her wedding day. Here’s what she had to say.
Taking to social media to share her story, Biodun Okeowo (Omoborty) wrote about her journey to marriage saying:
OMOBORTY: A BIT OF MY STORY! 😊
As a young girl, I always dreamed of wearing a beautiful white wedding dress and having an intimate garden ceremony, a simple, elopement-style wedding with just me and my Prince Charming. No crowds 😊
Hmmmm! My mom, a staunch Christian and prayer warrior, always hoped her only daughter would marry properly, with her bride price paid. But life took a different turn, it didn’t go as we planned. I remember days I and my mom would talk about how colorful my wedding day would be. 😭
My biggest pain on my wedding day was that my mom wasn’t there to witness it. RIP, Mom! I miss you deeply, and no one can ever fill your void. 😢 The tears from you not being here anymore are tears I’m not sure will ever dry! 😭
As a single mom, I once felt my dreams were shattered. I was judged and labeled, but God rewrote my story. My children are the greatest gifts of my life. God never makes mistakes. He does everything at the right time. 😊
Today, I celebrate God for blessing me with the man of my dreams, the children I prayed for, and the family I longed for.
Rejoice with me, and if you desire a similar testimony, tap into it, because I’ve gone through my share of heartbreaks and sheges but God came through, giving me exactly what I prayed for.
No matter how dark the tunnel may seem, there’s always light at the end.
I pray for everyone crying out to God for a change. He will rewrite your story, and your testimony shall be permanent! Amen 🙏
To God all be the glory! 😊❤️
Happy New Year!
