Veteran Nigerian actress Binta Ayo Mogaji-Oduleye is a trailblazer in Nollywood, with an illustrious career spanning both stage and screen. She has earned numerous accolades for her exceptional contributions to the industry.
Today on Your View, Ma’ Binta weighed in on the discussion about using nudity as a marketing strategy. She stated that the appropriateness of nudity depends on what one is selling; however, she does not advocate for it, describing it as “imbibing a culture that is not ours.” She emphasized that nudity is linked to one’s background and can negatively impact one’s image and standards, stating, “I have never done a movie where I revealed more than my shoulder.”
Concluding her thoughts, she asserted, “Nakedness is not a selling point.” When asked about her limited presence on screen recently, she explained that she has been busy and doesn’t engage heavily with social media, where audiences often track actors’ activities. Nevertheless, she assured viewers that more projects are on the way.
Mrs. Binta explained why her generation may not appear to be financially affluent. She emphasized that it largely depends on individual talent and one’s definition of success. Additionally, she noted that the new generation of actresses generates income not only from films but also from various undisclosed sources.
