“I pray we win so we can celebrate” – Funke Akindele beg for prayers for AMVCA win

Actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele, whose film “A Tribe Called Judah,” received multiple nominations at the 2024 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA), has fervently prayed to win in all nominated categories.

“A Tribe Called Judah” secured five nominations, including Best Actress, Best Film, Best Actor, Best Director, and Best Writer.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Funke shared behind-the-scenes clips from the film and expressed her hopes to emerge victorious in all nominated categories.

She wrote: “I miss you guys so much. Thank you al for making history with me. love you all. Al the best at the AMVCAS!! I pray we win so we can celebrate. My babies timini @tobimakinde @iamjidekene @olumideoworu.”

Funke who was nominated for best actress, will battle Kehinde Bankole, Ireti Doyle, Omowunmi Dada, Adaobi Dibor, Lucie Debay, Segilola Ogidan and Evelyne Ily for the win.

The 10th edition of the AMVCA will hold on Lagos on May 11.
