“I Ran Away From Home To Become A Taxi Driver, Because My Parents Were Not Rich”- Actor Tunde Shobayo Speak On His Struggle Before Fame

Renowned Yoruba actor Tunde Shobayo has opened up about the struggles he faced before entering the film industry, including how he fled home to work as a taxi driver.

In an interview shared on the official YouTube channel of Feelrightnews TV, Shobayo revealed that he left home to become a cab driver after his parents were unable to afford his tuition fees for further education.

In his statement, he said, “When I finished my secondary school, my parents asked me to stop my education in order to become an artisan. I listened to my parents instruction because they didn’t have the financial capacity to cater for me at the time. I went to learn mechanical engineering for 5 years, and I got my freedom. I ran away from home to become a taxi driver when my parents couldn’t pay my school fees. I started making some money to take care of myself, and when I went back home to meet my parents, they punished me severely for running away without taking permission from them.”
