Veteran Yoruba Nollywood actress, Sonola Oluwafunmilayo, has shared the heartbreaking story of losing her son just a month before his graduation.
In an emotional interview with FeelRightNews TV, she described it as the most devastating moment of her acting career, revealing how deeply the loss has affected her.
She explained that after years of hard work and sacrifice to secure a bright future for her son, tragedy struck at the most unexpected time.
Sonola tearfully recounted the countless sacrifices she made to ensure her son received a quality education. Despite the challenges of her acting career, she remained committed to giving him the best opportunities in life.
However, just as she was about to witness the fulfillment of her dreams, tragedy struck. Her pain was even more unbearable because she had done everything within her power to save him when he suddenly fell ill. He had shown no signs of sickness before, but on the day of the incident, he developed a mysterious condition.
In a desperate bid to save his life, she spent a fortune taking him to multiple hospitals and treatment centers. Sadly, despite all her efforts, he did not survive.
She said: “You know, man proposes, but God disposes. I can say with my full chest that all the money I made from this acting career was what I used to send my son to school. A month before he was supposed to graduate and serve, he died and was brought home. He wasn’t sick. He even called me on the day the incident happened, and his girlfriend also spoke with him that day. But around 2 p.m. on Sunday, when the incident occurred, he said something entered his body. He was taken to several places for treatment, but in the end, he did not survive.”
