“I Stopped Acting Movie When A Popular Cinema Producer, Said I Am No Longer Relevant In Movies”- Adekemi Taofeek Reveal During An Interview

Renowned Yoruba actress Adekemi Taofeek has opened up about one of the incidents that led her to stop making movies. She also shared her experience of being disrespected by a director who invited her to a cinema.

During an interview on Kunleafod TV’s official YouTube channel, she revealed that she decided to quit filmmaking after a director told her she was no longer relevant following her marriage and the birth of her child.

In her statement, she said, “I was invited to a movie location by a movie director, and when I got there, so many things happened that I felt so disrespected. When I got there, the movie director started saying that he wanted another actress over me simply because I got married and gave birth, and I took a break for 2 years.

I stayed in the hotel till 3 a.m., but I wasn’t allowed to partake in any movie, and I brought my child to the hotel as well. I used to call the same movie director for jobs, and I felt so bad because I was asked to check out from the hostel on the following day. I stopped acting movies when a movie director said I’m no longer relevant in movies.”
