Renowned Yoruba actor Ibrahim Yekini, popularly known as Itele, opened up about his relationship with actor Baba Tee during his challenging times in the film industry. He revealed how serving as Baba Tee’s driver during that period significantly improved his quality of life.

In an interview shared on the official YouTube channel of Biola Adebayo Ent, he revealed that he was once so financially challenged that his friend Baba Tee employed him as a driver for two years. During that time, he managed to earn enough money to pay off his debts.

In his statement, she said, “When I was trying to recover from my losses, Baba Tee was the one who came to my rescue when he came back to Nigeria from London. Baba Tee wanted to buy a car, but he was duped, and I already owned a car that I bought on credit. I was very poor to the extent that my friend Baba Tee employed me as his driver for 2 years.

I used to drive him to anywhere he was going, and he allowed me to stay in his house, and I made some money from him, and I rented a house, and I was able to settle my debts.”

One day, my boss beat me to the extent that I fainted, and my mother decided to take me back to the North.

When I came back from the North after one year, my mother took me to one of my brothers in Lagos, and I suffered a lot. I used to hawk sugarcane, and I worked as a shoe maker on the street before I became an actor. I met my boss, who taught me film making in 1996, and in the year 2020 I became an actor, and I produced my own movie.”
