Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo recently spoke out in a live video about her stance regarding her support for Mohbad’s wife, Omowunmi, amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding the late singer’s death.
Iyabo stated that she would stop supporting Omowunmi if authorities present solid evidence proving her involvement in Mohbad’s death.
During the live video, Iyabo addressed criticism, saying, “A lot of people are upset that I am supporting Wunmi (Mohbad’s wife). Until there is concrete evidence showing her involvement in Moh’s death, I will continue to be kind to her.”
“Why should I be cruel to someone else’s child when the law hasn’t found her guilty? I don’t care if people criticize me. If I join in condemning her, and tomorrow it’s proven she’s innocent, can an apology undo the damage done to her? I don’t believe in social media judgment.
If you have evidence against her, take it to the proper authorities, and we should all see it. To all the grown-ups sitting on social media bashing someone else’s child while you have children of your own—Karma will visit you. Your curses have no effect on me.”
Recalls that Mohbad died on September 12 and was buried the following day.
On September 21, the body of the 27-year-old music star was exhumed by the police for autopsy.
The circumstances surrounding his death have continued to stir up controversies, with many pointing accusing fingers at Omowunmi
In an Instagram live session, Iyabo Ojo stressed the importance of awaiting legal judgment, and not using social media to judge the widow.
The movie star urged critics to present evidence to the authorities instead of engaging in speculation.
