Actress Wunmi Toriola, who recently had an interview with Iyabo Ojo, opened up about her humble beginnings. Born on July 11 and raised in Lagos State, she originally hails from Ogun State. Growing up with her three siblings, Wunmi was raised by their father alone after her mother passed away when she was young. Despite their loss, her parents instilled strong Christian values in them, actively involving them in church activities.

After completing high school, Wunmi pursued higher education at the renowned University of Ilorin (Unilorin), earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics. In 2009, she ventured into the movie industry through the Odunfa Caucus in Ebute Metta. Her debut role in the movie “Isese Lagba,” produced by Tawa Ajisefeni, propelled her into the spotlight. Over the years, she appeared in numerous films before venturing into movie production herself.

In 2012, Wunmi Toriola took the leap into producing her own movie titled “Ajewunmi,” showcasing her multifaceted talents in the Nigerian film industry.

Wunmi has appeared in over 100 movies and has received numerous awards, including the 2018 “Fastest Rising Actress (Yoruba)” honor at the City People Awards. Besides her successful acting career, she is a proud mother to her son, Zion, and an accomplished entrepreneur. Wunmi’s remarkable achievements have established her as a formidable presence in the Yoruba film industry, earning her a reputation as one of the highest-paid actresses in the industry.
