Lady with sickle cell welcomes baby, shares scary pregnancy journey

In a video shared by @folabeautifier, Folashade discussed her journey overcoming typical pregnancy symptoms such as nausea and cold.

However, her situation took a turn three weeks before her due date when she developed a severe cough coinciding with a decrease in her PCV to 24%.

Despite feeling improved, she found herself hospitalized and spent the crossover night into 2024 in the hospital.

Shortly before the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve, she experienced significant difficulty breathing, accompanied by the onset of contractions. Subsequently, she underwent preparation for a cesarean section on January 2nd, during which she gave birth to a baby boy.

Sharing her story, she captioned the post with, “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9.”

Other sickle cell patients have since flooded her page to applaud her strength while sharing similar fears as she went through.
