Mariam Apaokagi, a Nigerian comedian and skit creator who goes by Taaooma online, has formally established the Mariam Apaokagi Initiative, a charitable organization.
Punch says the organization is committed to helping the underprivileged, emphasizing her hometown of Ilorin, Kwara State.
During Taaooma’s courtesy visit to Saliu Mustapha, the senator representing the Kwara Central Senatorial District, at his Ilorin residence, the Mariam Apaokagi Initiative was launched.
During the meeting, Taaooma spoke about the foundation and reaffirmed her commitment to making the lives of those who are less fortunate better.
While outlining the foundation’s many initiatives, Taaooma made it clear that the project is her way of giving back to the community. She also asked for the senator’s cooperation and assistance in order for the foundation to succeed.
Taaooma received praise from Senator Mustapha for her great initiative, and he assured her that he would always be available to work with her.
The legislator, also known as the Turaki of Ilorin, accused the sketch creator of creating content that is morally grounded and capable of reversing the trend of drug misuse and other illegal activity.
The senator also emphasized the importance of vocational education for young people, emphasizing how it can help create jobs and be a vehicle for empowering the next generation.
He advised Taaooma to concentrate on material that upholds moral principles and aids in the battle against social vices.
