A hilarious wedding video has sparked widespread discussion online after the bride’s father made an unexpected statement during the ceremony.
In the viral clip, the father is seen handing his daughter over to the groom, but not before making a remark that caught many people’s attention.
After blessing the union, he boldly declared that a wife is not obligated to cook for her husband. He advised the groom not to embrace the traditional belief that men are the head of the family and should return home expecting food with a stern face.
Questioning societal expectations, he asked who decided that wives must cook for their husbands, stressing that no one should feel compelled to prepare meals just to keep their spouse happy or secure a place in Al-Jannah (paradise).
He added that his wife could testify to this, as there were times when he arrived home, and she told him there was no food, yet he accepted it without any issues.
Speaking to the groom, he said, “Don’t believe in what this our culture brings, that you are the head of the family, when you return from work, you frown your face and shouting, ‘Look where is my food.” Who told you she has to cook for you. Nobody is voluntary to cook for you just because she want to make you happy and enter Al-jannah and she goes extra mile, Walahi, my wife can testify to this, at times when I enter my house and she says there is no food, all is good.”
