Veteran actor Yemi Solade has unveiled the key to the lasting success of his 21-year marriage.
Solade, who has been married to his wife, Hannah, since September 2003, shared insights into what has kept their relationship strong over the years.
In an interview with Nollywood Radio, veteran actor Yemi Solade shared insights into his enduring marriage to his wife, Hannah, which has lasted since their wedding in September 2003.
The 64-year-old film producer credited Hannah as the cornerstone of their union, emphasizing how her support and guidance have been instrumental in navigating life’s challenges.
Solade, known for his roles in Wale Adenuga’s series such as Papa Ajasco, Super Story, This Life, and Odd World, revealed that the secret to their successful marriage is the strong foundation of friendship they share.
“I give it to my wife. She manages me very well. She is been very tolerant; she perseveres a lot. My wife, apart from every other thing, is just a normal person. She is very selfless, she sacrifices more than anybody I know in this world. She is God-sent,” Solade said.
“She understands when I have and when I don’t have. She is not ostentatious. Anything I give to her, she prays for me, and that goes a long way.
“Marriage is more like friendship because it is a life contract”.
The actor also addressed rumors that he seeks sexual favors in exchange for film roles.
Solade disputed the charges, stating that as an actor, he had no say over casting. He also thanked his wife for remaining cool in the face of such rumours.
“Once I show her and say ‘Honey, sorry, something is brewing,’ and then she says ‘just be careful’, that is all. My wife is a very peaceful person; otherwise, we would not be together for 22 years now,” he added.
Solade and Hannah’s marriage has produced two children: Rola and Femi.
The actor previously said that his first wife had left him to live abroad. He also said he met Hannah on the set of Wale Adenuga’s ‘Super Story’.
