“Nollywood has failed us” — Lady cries as she finds Nonso Diobi asking for gifts on TikTok

A Nigerian woman took to her TikTok page, @dareal_bl, to voice her dissatisfaction with the treatment of actors in Nollywood, citing an incident involving veteran actor Nonso Diobi asking fans for gifts during a live session.

Expressing her disappointment, she revealed her observations of other actors engaging in similar practices but chose to remain silent.

However, upon discovering Nonso Diobi’s involvement, she felt compelled to speak out.

Her TikTok video highlights the disparity in treatment and opportunities within the Nigerian film industry, shedding light on the challenges faced by actors, particularly veterans like Nonso Diobi, resorting to unconventional means to sustain themselves.

Acknowledging that Nonso Diobi was her childhood crush, she expressed her disappointment in seeing him participate in a TikTok live session where individuals ask fans for gifts.

In her critique of Nollywood, she lamented the industry’s failure to adequately support many actors and called for improvements and reforms to address the systemic issues within the organization.
