Fuji star King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate or KWAM 1, recently paid lavish tribute to his longest-serving band member, Fatai Oluperi Ayinla, at a special event.
During the celebration, held on Wednesday, January 1, at the Balmoral Convention Center, Sheraton Ikeja, Lagos, as part of the New Year Dance, KWAM 1 acknowledged Ayinla’s dedication and loyalty to the band. He presented him with a substantial check as a token of appreciation for his years of service.
Adding to the festivities, Nollywood star Femi Adebayo also honored Ayinla with a generous contribution, making the event a truly memorable occasion.
One of the standout moments from the event featuring KWAM 1’s performance was the heartfelt tribute he paid to Fatai Oluperi Ayinla, who joined his band as a young boy.
KWAM 1 spoke highly of Ayinla’s journey to success over the years, sharing that Ayinla’s children are thriving abroad, a testament to his hard work and dedication.
Addressing the audience, the Fuji legend expressed his gratitude by gifting a staggering N20 million to his longest-serving band member in recognition of his unwavering loyalty and contributions.

KWAM 1’s act of generosity follows a similar gesture by his junior colleague, Ajibola Odetola, popularly known as Pasuma, who recently marked his 40 years on stage by gifting N1 million each to 10 of his band members who have been with him for over 30 years.
