Police officially release Naira Marley and Sam Larry

Two musicians, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, and Balogun Samson, also known as Sam Larry, were released from detention by the Lagos State Police Command.

Following the fulfillment of their bond requirements, both were freed on Friday. On November 6, Justice Adeola Olatunbosun of the Lagos State Magistrates Court, Yaba, granted Naira Marley and Sam Larry a N20 million bail each, along with three sureties of the same amount.

Additionally, the court ordered the defendants to surrender their passports and appear weekly at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti, Yaba.

The duo was apprehended in connection with the demise of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, who passed away under mysterious circumstances on September 12. Sam Larry was arrested on September 29, and Marley was detained on October 4.

The command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the release in a brief statement on Friday evening.

He wrote: “Naira Marley and Sammy Larry, having met their bail conditions, have been released.”
