Moses Olarewaju, popularly known as Ayikondu, is a Yoruba actor who recently opened up about his conflict with musician Manny Monie. During a live social media video, Manny Monie broke a bottle on Ayikondu’s head, sparking widespread attention.
In an interview shared on the official YouTube channel of Mtec TV, Ayikondu revealed that the incident stemmed from a piece of advice. He explained that he met Manny Monie drinking alcohol during the Ramadan fast and cautioned him against it. According to Ayikondu, shortly after offering the advice, Manny Monie reacted violently by smashing a bottle of alcohol on his head.
In his statement, he said, “About 3 weeks ago during Ramadan fasting, I went to a bar and I met Manny Monie with 8 bottles of alcohol, and I was surprised because it was during Ramadan fasting. Me and him were not really close, but I just liked his style of music. He told me to mind my own business, and I told him that I should be able to advise him as an elderly person. The next thing he did was go on social media and start recording our conversation, where he was giving me a warning that he would hurt me. Manny Monie broke a bottle on my head when I told him to stop taking alcohol during Ramadan. I was rushed to the hospital for treatment because I could have died because of the injury I sustained from the incident.”
