“Saheed Osupa and I Are Now Inspirations, We’ve Become Grandparents in Fuji Music” – Pasuma

Fuji Star Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma Reflects on Shared Achievements with King Dr. Saheed Osupa

Renowned Nigerian Fuji musician, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, recently reflected on the accomplishments he shares with fellow Fuji icon, King Dr. Saheed Osupa. Speaking on the Wasila Coded Podcast, Pasuma acknowledged that both artists have become sources of inspiration for the new generation of Fuji musicians.

He emphasized that he and Saheed Osupa, now considered grandfathers in the Fuji music industry, have achieved similar milestones throughout their careers and continue to play a vital role in shaping the genre’s future.

Pasuma said, “I was called on the phone to come to her house to check on her because she was acting strange. When I got there, I told them there was nothing wrong with her because I believed she would be fine when she saw me. My mom was sleeping on my lap the day she died, and I still believed that she would wake up.

I was very close to my mother when she was alive, but I believed that it was her time to die, and I couldn’t stop it from happening. I’m just happy because it wasn’t as if we had to take her from one hospital to the other because she wasn’t sick. When she finished eating that day, she observed her daily prayer, and she said she wanted to rest a little bit, and she didn’t wake up again.”
