The Lagos State Police Command has detained the controversial Lagos socialite, Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, as part of an ongoing inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the passing of the singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely recognized as Mohbad.
The Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, verified this development in a late Thursday night phone conversation with our correspondent.
“Yes, Balogun Eletu aka Sam Larry is now in our custody. He is currently assisting with the ongoing investigation,” Hundeyin said.
According to The PUNCH, the police had previously summoned Sam Larry and the singer Azeez Fashola, known as Naira Marley, for questioning regarding the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.
Last week, the police also verified that pathologists had completed Mohbad’s autopsy, with the results pending.
He said, “Autopsy has been concluded. Awaiting results.” This development followed the exhumation of Mohbad by a combined team of the Nigeria Police Force and health officials.
The police had also apprehended the nurse who allegedly administered the injection to the deceased singer on Tuesday, September 12.
