The Yoruba film industry is rallying behind their colleague Toyin Abraham, who is facing backlash on social media for apprehending an individual who was harassing her.
The filmmaker is under fire for arresting one of her trolls and leaving him in police custody for some time. One of the trolls accused the actress of detaining his mother, a claim Toyin denied, stating that the mother chose to stay at the police station due to her son’s arrest.
In response, many Nigerians have reported her to the streaming platform Netflix, demanding her movies be taken down.
Netizens are urging the platform to boycott her films and take a firm stance against her behavior.
Showing support for her, many of her colleagues took to their Instagram pages to defend the movie star.
Ibrahim Chatta penned a note to Toyin, appreciating her for speaking against bullying in all its forms.

Afeez Owo had reshared a post from Yinka Quadri where he urged all actors to unite and take a stance against bullying, noting how emotional blackmail is no joke.
Allwell Ademola, on her part, had noted the double standards on social media. She stated that sometimes she wonders why it is okay to bully celebrities, but when they react, they are being tagged as petty and bullies.
