Veteran Nollywood actor Saidi Balogun has tragically lost his first child, Zeenat Balogun. His ex-wife, Faithia Balogun Williams, joined him in mourning this heartbreaking loss.
On Saturday, October 5, Saidi shared a sorrowful image on Instagram—a flickering candle surrounded by flowers—symbolizing the light that has been extinguished from his life.
Reports indicate that Saidi, a father of four, was in the middle of a stage performance at Terra Kulture on Friday when he received the devastating news of his daughter’s passing.
Actress Faithia Williams, Saidi Balogun’s ex-wife and former stepmother to the late Zeenat, also expressed her grief on Instagram. She wrote, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un” (from Allah we come, to Him we shall return).
Saidi’s colleague, Ronke Oshodi Oke, paid tribute by sharing an image of a candle on Instagram. She captioned it, “No words can ease the pain of losing someone so precious. My heart goes out to you, @saidibalogun, during this incredibly difficult time. May you find strength in the love and support surrounding you.”
Other notable actors, including Kunle Afod, Yomi Fash-Lanso, and Adeniyi Johnson, have also extended their condolences.
