Nollywood actress Biola Bayo has expressed her gratitude to God for a year filled with His goodness, following the pardon granted by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke to Segun Olowookere, a man previously sentenced to death for stealing poultry.
Biola Bayo shared how Segun Olowookere’s release was made possible through the efforts of Governor Adeleke, uncle to singer Davido, and the support of other Nigerians.
Segun, who was sentenced to death by hanging for stealing a fowl in Osun State, had reportedly spent 14 years in prison before his eventual release.
In an emotional video, actress Biola Bayo expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Governor Ademola Adeleke and everyone who contributed to securing Segun Olowookere’s freedom. She described how the Lord had blessed her year with His goodness through this remarkable outcome.
Biola revealed that she and Segun had just left the Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos. She thanked her supporters for their love and assistance throughout the process.
According to the actress, Segun is a genuinely good person, with glowing testimonies about his behavior during his time at the correctional facility. She added that there would be no interviews for him at the moment and advised anyone interested in supporting him to contact her for his parents’ details.
Biola emphasized her desire to see Segun reintegrate into society as a better person with a stable job. She also extended her gratitude to Governor Ademola Adeleke for granting Segun a pardon.
Segun’s parents expressed profound thanks to Biola Bayo for her efforts in securing their son’s release. The actress continued engaging with others in the video, highlighting the collective joy and relief following Segun’s freedom.
