On September 21, 2023, the police in Ikorodu, Lagos State, proceeded with the exhumation of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad’s body.
This comes after the Lagos State police command previously explained that they were awaiting the necessary paperwork from the state Ministry of Health before conducting the autopsy.
Following the exhumation, the remains of the late Mohbad were promptly transported to the hospital, where the autopsy process is set to commence without delay.
Mohbad died on September 12 in controversial circumstances. He was buried the next day, September 13.
Nigerians demanded that an autopsy be carried following the startling revelations of him being harassed and assaulted while he was alive.
The Lagos state police command on Monday, September 19, set up a 13-man committee to carry out a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding his demise.
The committee is expected to turn in its report in two weeks.
