Veteran Nollywood actor Toyin Oshinaike has opened up about the highest salary he has ever received in his acting career. He revealed that he was paid thousands of dollars for just thirty minutes of work in a foreign film.
Speaking in an interview on the Oyinmomo TV official YouTube channel, Oshinaike shared insights into his career milestones, including his most significant earnings in both stage and film. The seasoned actor, known for his remarkable contributions to Nollywood and theater, expressed his astonishment at the substantial amount he earned for such a brief role in the international production.
While reflecting on his career journey, Toyin Oshinaike recounted his experiences in stage acting, including traveling to the United States and London for a six-month theatrical production of Things Fall Apart.
The project, which featured him alongside renowned industry figures, provided him with weekly payments in British pounds, making it one of his most financially rewarding stage performances. However, despite the substantial earnings from theater, the actor admitted that his biggest surprise came from a brief role in a Disney movie, where he was generously paid for minimal effort.
In his words; “I’ve worked on several projects that have paid me mouthwatering amounts. However, I’d like to split them into two categories: one is my highest pay for a stage drama, and the other is my highest pay for a movie shoot. For the stage drama, I traveled to the United States and London with Top Mike to perform Things Fall Apart. It was a six-month project, and I was paid in pounds every week. When I converted all my earnings for those six months into Nigerian currency, it was a much. However, in terms of movie projects, the one that surprised me the most was a little work I had to do to earn a significant amount. I’ve heard about it before, but it has happened to me to work little for a huge pay. I featured in a movie for Disney, where I was required to work for just 30 minutes. After completing the work, I was paid several thousand dollars.”
