The Ooni of Ife has successfully settled the feud between two legendary figures in the Nigerian film industry, Alhaji Kareem Adepoju (Baba Wande) and film producer Tunde Kelani, after several years of dispute.
This recent event marks a significant reconciliation between Baba Wande and Tunde Kelani, facilitated by the Arole Oduduwa & Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi. The feud, which lasted two decades, stemmed from issues related to the movie “Ti Oluwa Ni Ile.”
The reconciliation took place at Tunde Kelani’s home in Abeokuta, with Ooni Ogunwusi addressing both men through a message delivered by his Private Secretary, Yusuf Adewale Adetoyese. The Ooni praised their contributions to Yoruba culture and film, expressing admiration for their work and urging them to move past their differences for the sake of peace and progress.
Both Baba Wande and Tunde Kelani acknowledged their past conflicts, specifically regarding royalties from “Ti Oluwa Ni Ile,” but expressed a willingness to work together again.
