Adeoye Adewale, widely known as Elesho, a renowned actor, recently shared an anecdote from the 1970s involving Peter Fatomilola.
In a video posted on Kunle Afod’s Instagram page, Elesho recounted an incident where his senior colleague reprimanded him on a movie set.
He explained that during his younger years, he attended a rehearsal and unintentionally left the set without realizing that Peter Fatomilola was observing him. The experienced actor, often cast in the role of an herbalist, sternly scolded him.
“He punished me when I was young. We went to get something while rehearsing, and I didn’t know he was watching me.”

Prince Adewale Elesho, the current president of the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP), is a veteran of the film industry known for his dedication to promoting morals and Nigeria’s cultural heritage in Nigerian movies. In this interview with FEMI OGUNTAYO, the respected actor discusses his temporary departure from the film industry, the infiltration of immorality in modern-day Nollywood, and his future plans. Excerpts: You have been involved in theater for almost three decades. How did you begin, and which film do you attribute to your rise to fame?
I started my acting career in Ilorin, where we performed stage plays in schools. The producers, however, would always try to date the attractive ladies among us (laughs), regardless of whether they were someone’s girlfriend. There was an incident when I was single, and my friend’s girlfriend became a target. I remember going to the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in Ilorin for a rehearsal; it’s an experience I will never forget. I informed the producer that she was dating one of my friends, but I won’t mention the producer’s name because we have since become good friends. He insisted on having my friend’s girlfriend, and when I refused, he scolded me for my behavior during the rehearsal.
