Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo recently opened up about her romantic journey and the way she found her partner, Paulo Okoye.
During a discussion with Toke Makinwa, the actress shared her heartfelt love story, shedding light on the events that brought her and Paulo Okoye together and the deep connection they’ve formed.
Iyabo Ojo revealed that she initially had hesitations about the relationship due to Paulo’s connections within the entertainment industry.
She voiced her apprehensions about the relationship potentially becoming a public affair if she were to fall in love with someone in the entertainment industry.
However, she made the decision to pursue a relationship with Paulo after seeking advice from her colleagues and verifying his marital status, which eased her concerns.
“Everything I said that I would never do, he has changed the narrative. No one has ever slid to my DM, and I was not going to give the slightest attention, and I never knew him,” she said.
“And when his message popped up, I was like, who is this one? I went on his page to check him out. I checked his videos and noticed his page was verified, and I was sure he is not all these fraudsters.
“I noticed he knows many of these musicians, and I was like I do not want anybody in the entertainment industry.
“My story will be out every blessed day, Oh my God, I no dey do. So that was like a no-no-no for me, but I felt like, let me respond, someone like this, you just keep them in one corner as a friend.
“I told him that I was in a relationship and I was not even interested in dating him, and he asked, why do you not want to date me, and I answered, ‘Because you are a married man’, and he said ‘I am not married’. And I just kept asking questions about him, and I asked everybody I know would know him.”
