The late Nigerian artist Mohbad’s friend, Damola, has criticized the singer’s family for failing to arrange a proper funeral following his untimely death.
Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, tragically passed away, leaving the Nigerian music industry and fans in shock. His sudden and mysterious death at just 27 years old has fueled numerous speculations about the cause and circumstances surrounding it.
Although he was initially buried in Ikorodu, his body was later exhumed for a post-mortem examination. The autopsy results remain unknown, and his body is still in the morgue.
Fans, friends, and colleagues continue to mourn Mohbad’s loss, with many expressing frustration over the lack of clarity and closure surrounding his untimely death.
Various allegations have surfaced, particularly against Wunmi, concerning the late singer’s assets and doubts about the paternity of their son, Liam. Mohbad’s father has even claimed that the controversy over Liam’s DNA played a role in his son’s death.
As the first anniversary of Mohbad’s passing approaches, his friend Damola took to social media to voice his anger and disappointment with the singer’s family. He pointed out that while Mohbad was alive, he repeatedly spoke out about being bullied by his former record label boss, Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley. However, Damola noted that those expressing concern now, including Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, did nothing to help him when he needed it most.
Damola recalled how Mohbad’s father wanted to bury him the night he died on September 12, 2023. He also tackled the singer’s mother who was absent from his life for 10 years.
He however, defended Mohbad’s widow, revealing that he suspected Wunmi bought something from her accusers and refused to pay. Besides, he asked where all her accusers were before Mohbad died.
He also prayed to avoid being born into a dysfunctional family. Additionally, he encouraged staying close to God and seeking advice from wise individuals.
Damola wrote, “Refuse to bury your son?!? Lol….i have an idea o GriLL him… Nice pepper Oil him. Suya way Garri will slap well with his body. lol So some of y’all psychpath never rest?!?
