Cristiano Ronaldo, the Al Nassr striker, has taken Juventus to court over unpaid wages totaling £17.15 million, which he had agreed to defer during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Juventus players had collectively agreed to defer four months’ worth of salaries due to the club’s financial struggles in March 2020 and April 2021, but individual agreements were also made with players.
Ronaldo is now seeking to collect the money owed to him and has requested the relevant documents from the Turin Public Prosecutor’s office.
The 38-year-old left Juventus in August 2021 for Manchester United and currently plays for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.
This move follows Roma forward Paulo Dybala reaching an agreement with Juventus for the approximately £2.6 million he was owed.
