Christiano Ronaldo Faces Suspension Following Post-Match Gesture – Report

Al-Nassr striker Cristiano Ronaldo has been handed a one-match suspension in the aftermath of a contentious incident following his team’s 3-2 win against Al Shabab.

The Saudi Football Federation’s Disciplinary and Ethics Committee made this ruling public on Wednesday.

After the match concluded, Ronaldo was observed cupping his ear and subsequently making a thrusting motion with his hand in the vicinity of his pelvic area towards the Al Shabab fans. These supporters had been chanting the name of rival player Lionel Messi.

In response to the incident, the committee has levied sanctions against the Portuguese forward. Cristiano Ronaldo is required to pay a fine of 10,000 Saudi riyals ($2,666) to the Saudi Football Federation. Additionally, an extra 20,000 riyals are to be directed to Al Shabab to cover the administrative costs associated with the complaint.

The committee stressed that Ronaldo’s penalty is definitive and cannot be challenged through an appeal process.
