Popular Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji was recently conferred with a Doctor of Philosophy in Art and Culture from Estam University, Benin, on the 27th of November 2023.
Sharing the ceremonial moment on his Instagram page, Lateef expressed his overwhelming emotions, admitting he was moved to tears by the unexpected honor, thanking God for the immense blessing bestowed upon him.
He revealed that people can now called him Dr Lateef Adedimeji because he could not imagine get the title without facing invigilator and burning night candle in order to archive it, but he got it out of favour and recognition from God.
Netizens have been sending their congratulations messages to him as he became the latest doctor.
He Wrote: I was moved to tears as I got adorned in this beautiful robe.
I have never been interested in fame, I just wanted to be happy with my craft and the lives that I inspire.
ladies and gentlemen, today, I have a new title, one I couldn’t have imagined would come without me facing invigilators and keeping late nights to study…
The irony is really interesting. I burn midnight candles to master my lines and perfect my expressions, now I’m getting rewarded with what could have been if I did it for classroom reasons.
I humbly reintroduce myself, I AM DR. ABDULLATEEF ADEDIMEJI ADETOLA, Doctor of Philosophy in Art and Culture from Estam University, Benin.
