Funsho Adeolu raises questions on female colleagues’ source of wealth

Nollywood actor Funsho Adeolu has ignited a discussion by raising questions about the source of wealth among certain female colleagues in the industry.

Adeolu, who now resides in the US, expressed concerns about how some of his female counterparts in the movie industry finance their lavish lifestyles despite not being the highest earners, particularly within the Yoruba-speaking movie sector.

Adeolu, with his prominent position in the Nollywood landscape, starkly juxtaposed his substantial earnings per role with the lavish lifestyles displayed by numerous actresses. This created a puzzling disparity that he struggled to reconcile.

Expressing his concern, Adeolu articulated what he described as “the striking disparity between the remuneration garnered from acting endeavors and the flamboyant displays of wealth exhibited by some actresses.”

Speaking during a video interview on Teju Baby Face TV, Adeolu challenged the notion that these actresses solely rely on their earnings from film projects to sustain their lavish lifestyles, hinting at potential alternative revenue streams that might be fueling their conspicuous consumption.

Adeolu’s scrutiny extended to the realm of material possessions, as he mused over the apparent paradox of actresses driving high-end vehicles despite purportedly earning less per movie than himself.

“I command higher fees per role compared to many Nollywood actresses, yet I find it perplexing that they flaunt extravagant lifestyles beyond their movie earnings. They can’t say they only make money from acting movies to fund their lifestyle. There are discrepancies between their ostentatious displays and their actual earnings.”
