When Ngannou entered the ring with other African former UFC champions Israel Adesanya and Kamaru Usman by his side, the grandeur of the occasion was enhanced.
Fury prevailed by scores of 94-95, 96-93, and 95-94 in the fiercely contested bout, which culminated in a thrilling yet contentious split decision against Ngannou.
Fury dominated the first two rounds, but in the third, Ngannou’s powerful left hand sent Fury crashing to the canvas.
Despite the loss, Israel Adesanya was pleased of the former UFC heavyweight champion for his valiant attempt against Fury.
